My ten rules to live by!

I woke up this morning wanting to stay in bed, then get on the couch and eat junk all day.  Now mind you it was only 6am and these were the thoughts going through my head that early in the morning Well that fantasy was crushed when reality set in and I had to go and teach 2 back to back classes and then run a women’s discussion group. As I was driving to my classes and I began to think about how, in the past I might have really entertained these thoughts and may have did just that, ate junk to begin my day.  Many years ago, I changed my thinking to think about my personal RULES TO LIVE…

    Thanksgiving, not the last supper!

Have you ever felt fat? If so, join the millions of women of all shapes/sizes who go through this torture on a daily basis.    So you lost weight and try on some new clothes in a smaller size, GREAT! However,  you still have those thoughts of feeling fat. YOU hate everything in the store.  You have to lie on the bed because you cannot zipper a pair of pants that fit yesterday due to water retention, or perhaps your hormones are fluctuating and everything feels tight and doesn’t look good. Too many carbs getting the best of you?  This mental torture will snowball into thoughts of ‘I am ugly, fat and nobody loves me’ and this can lead…

DIETING, DIETING, will I ever feel better?

When Twiggy made her debut in America decades ago,  she changed the culture of American women and how they viewed themselves. Prior to us seeing her emaciated skinny almost boyish body women were curvy and voluptuous. Women embraced their curves, but since then, women have been clamoring to find the perfect avenue to thinness and a slender body. To my knowledge, this behavior does not seem to be stopping any time soon.  Every day millions of women are on some “DIET” or ridiculous food program in order to feel better about themselves. For most women, the learning curve of feeling great centers around how much they weigh or what size they are. Losing weight makes some women feel like they won an Oscar, while for others the satisfaction of weight loss is only…
